Applying for a German visa: How? Reasons for coming to Germany?

• Introduction

In this article, we explain step number seven of the ten steps for medical specialization in Germany.

You can read all ten steps in the following article:

🇩🇪 The 10 steps to start a medical residency in Germany (2023)

To come to Germany, citizens of many countries must apply for a German visa. To apply for a visa, you should give the German embassy a reason for coming to Germany.

If you have the slightest doubt about a certain point or do not understand any information, ask at any time in the main group of our community, “Facharzt JETZT,” on Facebook and Telegram (groups will appear as a folder). We remind you that this article is a guidance article to help you understand things, and you should not rely solely on it. You should always return to the official websites. 😊

• The possible reasons could be the following:

• Language course

You registered in a language course, most preferably to study further the German medical language (🇩🇪 die Fachsprache). The longer the course, the better (our recommendation: at least three months). Your application for the medical license should be included for your visa request.

In many countries around the world (like Jordan), the German embassies require proof of your seriousness to work in Germany, and that is that you learn at least German to a B1 level. Therefore, you cannot apply for a German visa if you do not have at least a German B1 certificate.

• The medical language exam (die Fachsprachenprüfung)

If you got a reply from the approbation authority, you could book an appointment for the medical language exam (🇩🇪 die Fachsprachenprüfung) or for the medical knowledge exam (🇩🇪 die Kenntnisprüfung), then this will help you to get the visa.

• Required documents to apply for visa

They differ slightly from one German embassy to another. In addition, they change with time. Please always refer to the website of the German embassy where you are applying for the visa. More or less, the following documents are required:

  1. Two copies of the national visa application, fully authenticated and submitted by the applicant personally.
  2. Two copies of the security declaration, fully authenticated and submitted by the applicant personally.
  3. Two modern personal images, biometrically measurable: Should be taken in a certain way. Just tell the cameraman that you need the photos for the German Embassy.
  4. A valid passport that signed by the passport holder. This is extremely important. There is a certain part of your passport where you should sign it. Every passport should have this part where you should make a signature.
  5. Two copies of the passport page containing the passport holder’s information.
  6. If necessary, provide proof of attendance at German language courses.
  7. Providing the origin of academic qualifications and 2 copies.
  8. Accompany the origin and 2 copies of the equivalent assessment of certificates carried out by the amending body in Germany.
  9. Accompany 2 copies of the CV signed by the applicant.
  10. Accompany 2 copies of personal statements signed by the applicant.

  12. Submit the origin and 2 copies of evidence of adequate sources of financing (a closed bank account of 1,028 euros per month and an annual value of 12,336 euros) or a bank guarantee (that someone in Germany will sign a commitment to spend on you for the length of your stay in Germany).
